In Conversation with Andrei Marcu of ERCST: Options for an EU Border Carbon Adjustment
11 November, 4:15 PM – 4:45 PM (CET)
Andrei Marcu has spent the last year deep in the weeds on a European carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM). His Brussels-based think tank, the European Roundtable on Climate Change and Sustainable Transition (ERCST), launched a project evaluating design options for a CBAM in November 2019, culminating in a report published in September 2020. In between, ERCST held town halls with eight key trading partners to gather international perspectives on what would be the world’s first carbon-based tariff system, as well as consultations with industry. ICAP will sit down with Andrei (digitally) to discuss the key findings of the report and takeaways from the consultation process.
